Victory in the Valley

“Then a man of God came and spoke to the King of Israel and said, “Thus says the Lord, because the Syrians have said, the Lord is God of the hills but he is not God of the valleys, therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand and you shall know that I am the Lord.” 1 Kings 20:28

The Syrian army made a great blunder in their war with Israel! They were going to attack Israel in the valley and not on the mountaintop because they thought God would not be with them in the valley, as He was on the mountaintop. What a lack of understanding who the God of Israel was! Seven days later, the Syrians were destroyed… in the valley!

When God gives a promise he means it… he means what he says. If he said he will never leave you or forsake you, no matter where you are, he will be there. He will be on the heights of the mountaintop experiences with you and will also be in the depths of the valley experiences as well! He is committed to you. He is loyal to you. He has a covenant with you and will not break His part of the Covenant even though we may fail our part. He is a God of integrity and character!

Are you having a bad week this week? Are you in that low time… that valley? We cannot always live on the mountaintop as much as I wish we could. But when the valley is your residence know one thing… he is with you, you are not alone. God can bring the victory down in the valley as much as He can on the mountaintop! Just as he was with you on those good and victorious days, He will be with you in the hard and difficult days. He will lift you up and nourish you with the living waters that flow down from the mountaintop right to where you are. However long you may be in the valley, trust that the God who gave you the victory on the mountaintop will also give you the victory in the valley! “…and you shall know that I am the Lord”!!! (exclamation points mine)
