"Blessed be God who has not turned away my prayer nor His mercy from me".

Psalm 66:20

“Blessed be God who has not turned away my prayer nor His mercy from me”.

There are so many amazing aspects of prayer and as we come to the Lord in prayer there are a great many assurances and promises. One is that He will hear our prayers when we come to Him with a right heart and He will never turn away from us. He will never ignore us or turn a deaf ear to us. He will never leave us or forsake us. Maybe there have been people in our lives that have rejected us and turned away from us, but Jesus never will. Even when our prayers are weak, infrequent, and sometimes not filled with as much faith as we would like… He still hears and does not turn away. When we fall short, He covers us with His grace and mercy. Thank you Jesus!

The Word says, “If I regard iniquity in my heart the Lord will not hear” (v. 18). In other words, if we keep sin in our heart, hold it back from God, not confess it and think that God will just ignore it, then God will not hear our prayer. But through heartfelt repentance, Godly sorrow for our sin…God turns to us and hears our prayers and dispatches the answer according to His will and ways.

So today, we need to have trust and confidence in God that as we pray, He hears us and has not turned away from you and your prayers. Don’t let the Devil lie to you! Believe God’s Word, trust His heart for you and stand on the truth. He is there, He is listening, and He is answering!

Repent of sin, confess it to God and receive His cleansing forgiveness. Only then can we proclaim the truth of verse 19… “But certainly God has heard me, He has attended to the voice of my prayer!” Certainly!
