You Are Precious

“Since you are precious in my sight, Since you are honored and I love you…” Isaiah 43:4 NASB Some years ago, I had a bumper sticker on my car that read, “You are precious to Jesus”. And as a matter of fact, the back of our church van reads, “You are precious to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”. I had a lot of comments on that bumper sticker from many people, most of which felt that they were not precious… to anyone.

When is the last time someone told you that you were precious to them? Have you told someone that they are precious to you? Precious is not a word we use a lot these days, yet is still a powerful and strong word. The word precious means that something is of great value, highly esteemed, cherished, prized and honored.

In Isaiah 43, the Lord stated that His people are precious to Him. Because we are precious to Him, He lets us know how that works out in real life. Because we are precious we are redeemed, He protects us through the waters, rivers and fires, we do not need to fear because He is with us… no matter what the circumstances of our life are and no matter what lies the devil aims at us. And because we are precious to Him, He has promise to redeem and be faithful to our children and families!

So today, take some time and receive in your heart that you are precious… yes you! When you know that you are precious to Jesus, valued, cherished and prized… you become strong, established and secure in His love, anchored in Christ… and that changes everything! Enjoy the day Precious!
