Decisions

Decisions

How many decisions do you think you’ve made in the last week? Probably more than we think. I found a great truth years ago… between circumstances and our response to the circumstances is our decisions! Our actions and behaviors are not based on our conditions, but on our decisions. Every moment in our life is uncharted territory that has not been lived before and our decisions direct the trajectory of those moments.

Joshua told the people to “choose this day” (Joshua 24:15)… Moses chose to be with his people rather than stay in Egypt (Hebrews 11:25)… Jesus prayed all night and then chose His twelve apostles (Luke 6:12-16). Every decision we make will reflect our heart and our character and need not be haphazard decisions. We’ve got to own our decisions without blaming anyone and seek God as the basis for what we decide.

Here are some considerations:

Seek and submit to God’s will. He has the vision and purpose for your life. Desire to please Him. Every decision will either bring us closer of further from our Lord.

Do not be led by circumstances or feelings! Opened and closed doors can mean a lot of different things. Circumstances and feelings are subject to change. God’s Word is not!

Seek Godly counsel. Seek someone you trust, hears from God, and has your best interest at heart and will be honest with you. You don’t want someone who will tell you what you want to hear! If you are not willing to hear God’s truth for you then you will seek out those who will eventually tell you what you want to hear… and that could be dangerous

Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

“You will show me that path of life, in your presence is fullness of joy, at your right hand are pleasures forever more” Psalm 16:11
