"Behold I Stand at the Door and Knock"

“Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come to him and dine with him and he with Me."  Revelation 3:20

These words of Jesus are so amazing and beautiful. He is expressing His heart and His desire to be with us. He is not only knocking but calling out to us because He said, “If anyone hears my voice”. Look how Jesus initiates fellowship with us. He makes the first move because He loves us so much and desires our presence.

The question remains… are we opening up the door? Are we hearing His calling to us? Do we desire Him as much as He desires us? Are we willing to resist our flesh and the influences of the world in order to have Jesus and to be with Him? When He says he wants to dine with us, it means he desires intimacy, oneness and to be the fulfillment of all that we need. Are other voices in our lives drowning out the love-filled calls of Christ? Are we opening doors to other things that cause us to be busy and distracted and not opening the door of our hearts to Jesus?

Today… open the door. He is calling you. Spend time with Him today… just you and Jesus. Desire Christ more than anything… get hungry and thirsty for Him. Let Him care for you and nourish you with all that He is and all that He has. “He satisfies and fills the desires of every living thing.” Psalm 145:16

Have dinner with Jesus tonight… you’ll never be hungry for anything else!
